Ask 20 music store patrons, at random, whether they know that version of that song and my bet is maybe -- MAYBE -- 5 of them have. Face it y'all. People don't pay attention to jazz. The numbers bear it out. Sad, especially for an avid jazz listener like myself and you two, but true. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

Well, for some it takes someone with the patience to expose them to it. And the "brand" has been diluted by music that is listenable but horrible by jazz standards. But I will start another thread on that. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

I know very little jazz, but I think that for a lot of people it's the same thing as watching a classic black & white movie. Before you even go into it, it feels like it's going to be homework. But once you immerse yourself into it, you find that it ain't homework after all; it's good and good for you! | |
