Culture Club - Kissing To Be Clever

There's some guy here on the org who sports this album cover as an avatar. He definitely has great taste, if you ask me. thumbs up! I mean, this is a classic album that has definitely outlasted its era. And it gave us some of the best New Wave/Dance/Pop of the 80's. I can still groove to classic tracks like "White Boy", "Do You Really Want To Hurt Me" and "I'll Tumble 4 Ya". The Reggae rapping/toasting is a little corny to me but it's still cute and entertaining. This is definitely a 5-star New Wave album though.

hi NWF ,... true story,.... i went to see culture club in concert literally the week before they went mega, they were playing a very small club in glasgow the mayfair held about 200, the gig was sold out so they arranged a matinee , i dunno what happened with the tiks but there were only about 10 people in the audience (i was there) , they played the gig anyway , a 35 minute set including do you really want to hurt me twice !! the following week they were nr 1 in the singles charts and within months playimg to 70.000 in japan ! cool

I cannot pick which I like more - Kissing to be Clever or Colour by Numbers. I love them both so much.

thumbs up!

Awesome album.
I was totally into Culture Club back in the day!

I was SO----O disapointed with the lame "comeback" they had 2-3 years ago.(anyone remember?)

I liked "I'm Afraid of Me" a lot from that project as well.

I also like "Strange Voodoo", which was a song off their more recent comeback album. I didn't buy the album, but I still like that song...
