Is it me or does Ray Charles' voice sound like Nina Simone ?

I don't think anyone's voice sounds like Nina Simone.

Shee doesn't sound like him but I guess you could say she's influenced by the brotha. One thing for sure, her song "Come On Back, Jack" is a nod to Ray's "Hit The Road Jack".

Sure, both got obevious bluse roots in their voices when you think about it besides he was the main influence on the rest of the RnB/Soul/Jazz scene back in the late 50's,,,,,but unlike Nina, brotha Ray is a SHOUTER

Speaking of a shouter, I wish he made a WHOLE album with his main back-up vocalist Margie Hendrix(The wailing bitch in "Night Time Is The Right Time" ).

I can feel y'all with the Simone/Charles comparisons. They can both hold down the bass, for sure. Nina's delivery is uniquely smooth, however, IMHO. The sound of her voice haunts me like no other.
