Motown had a country division for a short period of time in the 1970s. It was called Melodyland. Around 1975, Motown was sued by a Los Angeles church over the right to use the name "Melodyland" had to change its name to Hitsville. I believe Motown shut the label down sometime around 77.

The only artist that I could find that recorded for the label was country-pop singer T.G. Sheppard, who, according to the All Music Guide had quite a few big hits for the label.

It's a jungle out there.
