I'm having a heavy metal relapse! I don't know what's been up with me lately, all I've been listening to is metal.
Iron Maiden Dio Celtic Frost Black Sabbath Motley Crue (the first 2 albums ) have all been on my playlist lately, I've even been digging into the new stuff out there and the sounds I've missed over the last 2 decades I'm really feeling that band Tool at the moment, can anyone here recommend some titles by them?

Nice!
I'd say, if you're just starting out with Tool, get yourself a copy of "Aenima", which IMO is their best work. Not that there's really much to choose from though Anyways, yeah, start with that then get their debut "Undertow" and afterwards their latest "Laterlus". Hope that helps

I like the sleeve. If you're talking about the cover, yeah, I think I studied that thing for days, there was so much detail on it.

I have to say though, even with Maynard from Tool, they don't really appeal to me, with the exception of their debut "Mer De Noms". They released their second record in September with a different line-up (not as impressive as the first) and a record of covers just over a month ago (which IMO is pretty awful). If you were to get any of their stuff, try their debut album, good stuff. [Edited 12/28/04 11:29am]

I can still listen to and enjoy a lot of the metal I dug back in the 80s, early 90s. The stuff that's out now bugs me. It's no fun. I'll take Poison, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Motley Crue and Ozzy over Korn anyday. [Edited 12/28/04 11:29am]

I hear you. I just finished reading "Fargo Rock City," a book defending the 80's metal scene written by Spin's Chuck Klosterman. It is a very funny, insightful and entertaining read. Highly recommended for anyone who ate metal for breakfast in the 80's.
For those about to rock, we salute you! a psychotic is someone who just figured out what's going on

I like the darker stuff like Type O Negative and Lacuna Coil. Also Cradle Of Filth when I'm feeling particularly randy.
I saw a Finnish double bill of Nightwish and Lullacry back in Sepetember. That was a good show.
