I just rediscovered this film a few weeks ago. When I saw that it was only sale for about $5 now, I took advantage of it. It still holds up over these years.

A classic.

BB 2000, on the other hand, was LAME, with Willson Picket's version of 634-5789 being its only saving grace.

This music a classic like a muthafucka. Eventhough I have seen it a thousand times, I don't mind watching it again b/c it brings back good memories b/c of the excellent chase scences and the music that it included.

i like the guest stars' performances, but this has never really clicked with me as a movie. i just don't enjoy it as a comedy.

I agree.

Without the John Lee Hooker, James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Cab Calloway and Blues Brothers Band performances (the Good Ole Boys and concert sequences), it's not that strong at all.

It's a fun watch though.
