That entire series is phenomenal. Lots of rare grooves packaged in one place. There's a great song on one of 'em called "Rock Me" by Connie.

This song reminds of 1997 when I was going through my '80s/retro-obsession phase. I was in high school and I did nothing but learn how to breakdance and listen to old cassettes, old school mix shows, and vinyl from 1981-1984. I had cardboard in my living room, I rented every old urban dance movie for two years (Breakin, Breakin 2: Electric Boogaloo, Rappin', Beat Street, Style Wars, Wild Style, Krush Groove, etc. etc. etc.) I was in love with the early '80s so much that I used to have dreams of being a young adult breakdancing in a crew at the Radiotron! I bought the leg warmers, the wristbands, old school chuck taylors with fat laces (minus the jheri curl, mind you!)
Bringing the '80s back one groove at a time!

Bringing the '80s back one groove at a time! OMG, don't get me started. We did all that back when I was a pre-teen/teenager in the mid early and mid 80s...well, all except the leg warmers We even wet down the cardboard and dried it with a blow dryer to make it more slick for breakdancin'!

I've got the 12 Inch but I also have all four of the "Street Jams...Electric Funk" compilations. I can't get enough of them and I wish they would release more. That's the kind of rap I love, the kind for the dancefloor. Andy is a four letter word.

I, too, have the Electric Funk box set, but I still only have a couple volumes from Street Jams: Hip Hop From The Top. I'd like to get the other 2.
I don't have Dimples D "Sucker DJs" anywhere on CD!

I don't have Dimples D "Sucker DJs" anywhere on CD! I have the first volume of "Street Jams: Hip Hop From The Top". Rhino puts out some damn good compilations. The best compilation series I have seen by far is the Rhino "Phat Trax" volumes 1 through 7. These volumes feature the full length album versions as well as 12 Inch versions in their entirety. Andy is a four letter word.
