one of the things my mom got 4 xmas was a record player..so we're goin thru her records and on two of her records (santana and the main ingredient) had naked women on them..and i mean fully nekkid all in your face..this made me think of the whole janet..super bowl..3 second long wordrobe malfunction thing...and how people got all ahhhhh about it...4 those of u who were around when they came out did people get all ahhh about the nekkid women?

as a kid growing up in the U.S.at the time (of albums like Santana's Abraxas and Miles Davis's Bitches Brew - late 60's early 70')the culture wasn't quite so reactionary....those covers were seen more as artistic expression, although it still wasn't the kind of thing you would see on prime time national television...but it was fine to sell albums in record stores with nudity depicted on the cover, people thought it was interesting , but there was certainly no public outcry over a Main Ingredient or Santana album cover... but then, those were for an adult audience... if it was a nude on a Jackson 5 album cover, there would have been a lot of noise!

and then, just as now, if you showed up on a halftime show and slipped out a boob , yeah, you probably would have heard about it....

Naked people on covers was a part of their artistic view/choice. and I respect that.. just like there are naked images carved in stone and painted on canvas for hundreds of years...

My point? that stupid "wardrobe malfunction" was a stupid uncalled for decision for attention and shock value.. and to honestly make up for a low grade performance from both of them.

Now, Americans bitching about it? thats silly also, but I understand the TV stations concern for artists to make bad judgements on THEIR station. Thats common sense..

Thats my point, im not on either side really..
