WTF happened to Gregory Abbott?

What was his hit called? Shake You Down? Let Me Shake You Down???
I saw the video this weekend...he had a decent voice and decent looks (although
he was probably too old to become a major force) What was up with that braided tail that he sported though? no no no!
That song was soundin' pretty good to me..music
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Yup! (We need a Freda thread!) When "Shake You Down" came out, I was like, "That's Freda Payne's husband! eek (and what happened to his mustache!? eek )

Anyway, "Shake You Down" was nice. thumbs up!

If my memory serves me correctly, his Waterloo was getting busted lip-syncing at a "live" concert here in L.A. some years back when his "music system" collapsed on him.

Also no longer Mr. Freda Payne.

Talk about bad luck.

I always thought he and Phillip Michael Thomas could be related...

I do remember when he was married to Freda Payne. I used to see them in old issues of Ebony and Black Stars.

And don't forget Jet! biggrin I see the similarities too: same complexion, green eyes, curly black hair. Know what else is funny? Freda Payne and Phillip Michael Thomas were in the movie "Book of Numbers." Guess when she went shoppin' for a husband Thomas was the prototype. wink

His sister is Dianne Abbott, ex-wife of Robert DeNiro. I think Freda and Gregory have a 26 or 27 year-old son. I wonder why their son never went into show-business, acting, or modeling. He surely must be gorgeous, considering how gorgeous his two parent were and still are.

CalhounSq, you remember Al B. Sure's first single (I forgot the title). He was sounding cool and all, then in the middle of the song he started sounding like he was having convulsions (what, eeee!!!), sounding like Curly in the Three Stooges!!! LMAO!!! We should have a post about who sounded great on the beginning of their songs until they uttered or did something totally unexpected and funny!!!! Happy Holidays!!!

i never liked the song and that "eeny meeny" lyric made it even worse. if it was between "shake you down" and that "rock with you for old time's sake" song by freddie Jackson, i'd rather listen to Freddie Jackson
Which came first , music or the ear for it?
