questions about new Tina Turner "All The Best"

1) when is it out in the US? the date listed at AMG and one given to a friend of mine by a Canadian retailer was that the US date is Dec. 28, but all the press releases say Feb. 1 confuse also, Dec. 28 doesn't make much sense as a release date for ANYTHING since it's 3 days after Christmas and you'd think that they'd want to get it out for the holiday shopping season. especially a best-of collection.

2) what country got the 3-CD release? i keep seeing the 3rd disc on soulseek, but i can't find any info on where it's released. i want this version, because it basically makes the set a damn-near complete overview of her singles from 1982-present.

3) hopefully, like when Simply The Best was coming out, it'll inspire a thorough Ike & Tina comp. release. but remastered. please. "All The Best" is a great overview of her solo stuff, but it's a rather incomplete picture of her career. of course i've made my own 4-disc set, but still... it'd be nice if you could go out and get a really great collection or 2 to cover all of it.

ALL THE BEST will be released in the US shores on Feb. 1st. It will be a 2 disc set that includes 3 new tracks including the single 'Open Arms'...not the Journey song.

I just gave my album info to someone and cant remember everything on it but it pretty much contains all of her hits, well known songs throughout her career.

CONFIRMED--Tina will do the OPRAH show on Feb. 1st. As many of you know O is a huge fan and they will celebrate T's comeback on that day!

Stay tuned for more!

Not at this time...I work for Capitol and all we have on the schedule is the standard 2 disc version. There could be a chance that a limited edition will make the schedule if the demand is there. If you ask me, they should do it...I'm a huge Tina fan and I'm sure with the Oprah appearance...there's potential!

I do know that there is a DVD in the works for later in the year...I have no info on that right now though...

peace

weird. because i downloaded something off of soulseek that said it was a 3rd disc. it's basically all of the semi-hits and/or singles that aren't on the first 2 discs. like Back Where You Started and Foreign Affair and Disco Inferno, etc.

A lot of Chinese bootlegs are 3 discs, and soulseek does occasionally list them (they're that pervasive), so that could be the answer.

the tracks sound remastered, though.... hmmm on par with the 2 regular discs.

nod Very possible. I have some Chinese Janet bootlegs and they're all 24-bit HDCD encoded. But bootlegs nonetheless.

thanks for the info. or at least the suspicion.

too bad if it's not official. because i'd totally buy a 3-CD version of this.

It's so depressing that all Tina's label could come up with was another rehashed greatest hits package. The few new songs aren't so hot, either. Why is she continually saddled with poor material? And why do the Europeans eat it up?

yeah, good question. Open Arms is pleasant enough, but Complicated Disaster is just that. and i can't even remember what the other one is like. she can pull off lite-r&b/adult contemporary pop better than anyone when the material's up to snuff (like the Wildest Dreams album), but these songs are pretty ho hum.
