"Say Something" has been replaced as the lead single from Mariah's new album

With what, I don't know. L.A. Reid is apparently preparing a new single from scratch.

Does NOT look promising.

Say Something leaked 2 months before it's radio debut, Mariah is still recording her album, and she has just finished recording with JD and decided one the tracks she did with him should the first single.

According to Universal Music Italy, Mariah's first single from her upcoming album has been replaced and will no longer be "Say Something". It is reported that Mariah is still recording her album under the supervision of label executive L.A. Reid, including a new song that will be the lead single, which will premiere around January 14, 2005.

The new single will be a newly-recorded song produced by Jermaine Dupri. Earlier in the year, Jermaine told MTV News that he and Mariah had tracked two songs together. Yesterday, however, he announced that he and Mariah had done four songs together.

"I brought Mariah back to Mariah Carey," said producer Jermaine Dupri, who worked with her on four songs. "Her singing is something kids could follow. All those kids like Christina Aguilera, they looked up to Mariah when they first came out. That was the person they liked voicewise. In the studio, I'm telling Mariah, 'This is what you gotta do, you gotta get yourself back to what kids is following.' "

"I always looked up to Mariah," said collaborator Pharrell Williams, who worked with her on two songs. "She broke a lot of records — literally. And our records, they feel wonderful. For me, it was a pleasure."

So in the last two weeks JD has made his mission to make it 95! when people wanted to dance like Janet and sing like Mariah?
anyway only the tracks we know JD has done with Mariah is "Can I get ur number" which is a dance track that samples "Just an illusion" and "Shake 'em off" which is mid tempo ballad, we'll see
