James Brown - In the Jungle Groove

This 1986 compilation of some of James Brown's best 1969-1971 funk seems to have been created specifically for the b-boys. I wonder why this set seems so hip hop related. These songs seem to have been pulled from Kool Herc and Bambaataa's lists (classic hip hop breakbeats). And the extended edit of the "Funky Drummer" break (track 5) is something I would expect on Ultimate Breaks And Beats.

01 It's A New Day
02 Funky Drummer
03 Give It Up Or Turnit a Loose (Remix)
04 I Got To Move
05 Funky Drummer
06 Talkin' Loud & Sayin' Nothing
07 Get Up, Get Into It, And Get Involved
08 Soul Power
09 Hot Pants

damn.

B-boys and Funksters rejoice. thumbs up!
