BTW, because there's been some confusion, there are actually two Hefners in the music world....One is an indie rock band, and the electronica Hefner is Lee Jones..... one of them really should change the name.... NOW you've gone and done it...great thread topic! My own music is heavily influenced by these styles!
I love Jazzanova's In Between CD. If "No Use" is any indication, I've got to check out Clara Hill's latest as well. I went to the 2003 Movement Festival in Detroit, and IMO the best DJ of the lot was Vikter Duplaix. His set was incredible -- the energy continued to build, people were dancing everywhere, and the stage area was standing room only! He did some great stuff on the Jazzanova CD as well. LTJ Bukem, Roni Size, Blue Six, Supreme Beings of Leisure...love 'em all! I was listening to Beautiful Tomorrow by Blue Six last night -- reminds me of the chillout nights in one of my favorite NYC bars. Highly recommended CD. If you're into this stuff, I have to recommend a project I've been talking about for years here on the org: Herbert's Bodily Functions. | |
