anyone happen to notice where New Edition's new album is???

I heard it's at #181 on the billboard chart after 3 weeks and that Bobby is going to start touring with them in January.

A moment of silence please for a death of another group from the 80".....amen.

I think the novelty of NE wore off and so their album fell as well. Maybe Bobby's drama will bring them the needed media attention. It seems that muscic world tends to want to throw you away if you are a boy group in your 30's approaching thier 40's. Of course, this most recent album wasn't as good as their last album Home in my opinion.

I bought Home Again, but I haven't seen a new video yet, or even the album in a store.

Bobby was still crazy in 1996 and was on Home Again so it's sorta disappointing that it's not ALLL of the boys back together.

Wearing the same outfits and synchronized dance steps are pretty much over once you hit thirty, unless you're the O'jays or the ancient "Temptations".

Let's face it,boy bands are over.New Edition lasted longer than most of the other groups, but their hit-making days are over. But they can still do the occasional "greatest hits" tour.

They played the whole album on VH1 Soul and it was too mellow for my taste. I like the song "Hot Tonight" and the video for it, but I like Home Again better

well..I think that they were not really given a chance for the "comeback". My daughter loveddddd Hot2nite...and even wanted to get the cd.

I think we just blow artists off as has beens or played out. And it doesn't help that they are on BadBoy....Diddy is only good at promoting himself.

You hit the nail on the head when you said their hit-making days are over. That's why the album sank so fast: no hit single. Hasn't anyone learned yet from 'Damita Jo'?

That was pretty predictable cuz all the young people run the Billboard records now (compared to 1994 - 1996 bored things started getting better after that). The album is MUCH MUCH more favorable than Home Again to me. Last time I got whole bunches of "I hate Home Again..blah blah" from yall, now yall love Home Again. I feel this is comparable to theur album "All For Love" and is a better listen to that album, Blue Moon, and their Christmas album.

1. Heartbreak
2. New Edition
3. Candy Girl
4. One Love
5. All For Love
6. Home Again
7. Blue Moon
8. Merry Christmas

MAYN if they toured with Bobby trust me their album will be flying.

I went to see them on their Home Again tour. Whitney was present rolleyes but bobby ONLY did his solo set. When it was time for the group stuff, all of a sudden he was sick.

I like their new cd. It debuted at #12 Pop and #4 R&B last month. Not bad for not releasing a new cd in 8 years with little to no promotion from Bad Boy records.

New Edition will always be around whether they are only touring or releasing cd's. They have been in the game 20+ years and still maintain a large core audience.

Perhaps they should consider doing a greatest hits tour with Boys II Men.They could call it...

"The Re-Write The Memories Tour 2005"

starring New Edition---Boys II Men---and special guest DeBarge

this is sad. IMO i think NE tries extremely too hard, plus they should have known when they signed to bad boy that they weren't gonna sell much. Look at all of bad boys artists, poof they're gone....everyone has left there, and we wonder why??...???....hmmm???
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I know Diddy has a personal boner for New Edition, and has designed all of his groups (ie. anyone that wasn't a solo act) after them.

eye No. Their album does sound like a 112 album (because alot of it IS produced by Mario Winans).

I think the reason this album didn't do well (although I'm sure they are many reasons, like age and the fact that it wasn't crunk enough for Clear Channel) is the fact that, yes, the reunion album already happened and the fact that this one took so long to come out after that one and without Bobay shows that it was yet another reunion, done more for money than the love of music. I think if it was something truly special, the album might have been more warmly recieved. The fact that it was a Puffy project is more of a curse than a blessing, that's for sure.

She needs another one now because it is all scratched up. Now I didnt thinkit was that special, but I didnt see any bad reviews for the record.

Nah I didn't say New Edition sounded like 112... I'm just saying, whenever Diddy formed a group, he had a personal boner thinking "it's gonna be like New Edition!"... he even made Dream remake "Mr. Telephone Man" for crying out loud - that's the most obvious case.

He said this on the radio last Friday in Atlanta. He and Whitney came to the station and mentioned it on the Frank & Wanda Morning Show. Here are pics of the show (if you care).
