All due respect, dancerella, Why don't we compare Pearl Washington to Michael Jordan next?

"Confessions" doesn't even hold a candle to "Dangerous," much LESS Thriller.

i know it really is a joke comparing the 2 but the sad thing is that kids growing up today will see usher as the king of pop.

He'll be done in 3 years.

Prediction: he becomes the next Bobbay, marries Alicia Keys and takes her down with him!

Seriously, I think Bobby Brown is a more accurate comparison. Many people were saying the same things about Bobby 15 years ago that they do about Usher today.

I'm not a huge "Thriller" guy (I think "Bad" is a much better album) but I must say that you can't begin to compare them. It's hard for me to judge since I don't own "Confessions" (but have heard most of it, thanks to mass media!) but the reason they can't be compared is that "Confessions" is the album du jour, maybe album d'anni (of the year?) and is a product of it's envoirnment...where albums are so unspecial that within months of their release and selling a million copies in a week. they must be rereleased. I assure that albums didn't sell a million copies in a week back in the day? Why? They were nuturted and made money and sold over time....sometimes years! Usher is releasing singles off other people's albums now and according to mom, 2005 is all about movies (good luck with that considering what hits he has had at the box office already). It's really hard to be angry at Usher since the songs aren't terrible. I just think that if other stuff got a chance, Usher wouldn't have the number one album of the year, without anything coming close to selling as many copies! It's a product of Clear Channel, not fans buying singles and seeking out this guy. if the album hadn't sold 5 million plus copies, it would have been a bomb considering all the radio play!
