Shine vs. On Your Face ?

Which of these songs do yall like better. Bar-Kay's Shine or Earth, Wind and Fire's On Your Face. They both sound very similar in arrangements too me.
PRINCE: Always and Forever
MICHAEL JACKSON: Always and Forever

I didn't care for SHINE back in the day because it sounded just like EWF's 'On Your Face'..
I also liked the Bar-kays too, but they had a habit of sounding like whatever was the latest sound.....
I appreciate SHINE today tho'....
From the album, 'Light Of Life'....

I don't think I've heard "On Your Face". I love Earth, Wind, and Fire but I'm a bigger Bar-Kays fan. I probably would like The Bar-Kays' "Shine" better but I would have to hear "On Your Face" first to make a fair judgement.

Probably so. My favorite Earth, Wind, & Fire song is "Mighty Mighty" but I never knew the name of it. I just happened to stumble across it by accident when I bought their greatest hits volume 2. biggrin

Does anyone have The Barkays' album "As One"? If so, don't you think that the last two slow songs on the album sound very much like Earth, Wind, and Fire?

Some of the words to On Your Face:

Ain't it funny how the way you feel is written on your face
And no matter how you try to hide, it states your case

This song is tha bomb. biggrin

but yes, Shine is very fine too. but clearly a rip-off
Vanglorious... this is protected by the red, the black, and the green. With a key... sissy!

Havent heard those paticular songs, but the Barkays do seem to borrow whatever the sound of the day is and put out their own version of it.
