Touch Me (All Night Long) - Who Did the Song Right?

I'm partial to the original by Fonda Rae. I love the way it plucks along. I love Cathy Dennis' more straight on disco take on it, but the original is more fun for me! thumbs up!

Both are hot. But Fonda's is somehow more urgent and sexy.

As a dance track, you can't fault Cathy's.

Both are essential to their respective eras, IMHO.

As much as I love dance, house, and disco...I'm sorry, but I never cared for either version.

Hmmm...prior to reading this thread, I had no idea that Cathy Dennis' version wasn't the original.

I grew up on Cathy's version. I'll give the girl her dues.

I'm older so naturally I prefer the original. When Cathy's remake first came out, I thought it was a little lame.

She's so successful with her writing now, isn't she?

I can't believe that she got to write with Burt Bacharach. The man is a genius.

Cathy Dennis is definitely turning out hits lately. I'm glad she's still around working like Linda Perry.

I like both versions as well.....2 slightly different feels to them.
I am not African. Africa is in me, but I cannot return.
I am not taína. Taíno is in me, but there is no way back.
I am not european. Europe lives in me, but I have no home there.
I am new. History made me. My first language was spanglish.

The original by far is the best!

Didn't CAthy Denis change the lyrics in her version?
