Did anybody have this album back in the day? : Mother's Finest: Live (1979)

One of my favorite live albums of all time...Great versions of Baby Love, Don't Wanna Come Back, Love Changes... was anybody else feelin' this?

I didn't own it but I definitely heard it.
And yes, Joyce Kennedy killed Love Changes.

Love-will-make-you oh so happy...inside.

It's a cryin' shame they never became a bigger band.
But that's a story for another day.

It upsets me that most people I know, musicians even, know nothing about Mother's Finest! A band so talented and so great and yet so "unknown". It's like the way I fell about Fishbone. They turned my world around and upside down and yet there is very few people I can converse with in an educated fashion. Point, not many people know anything about them.
What do we do?
Educate cool
Fantasy is reality in the world today. But I'll keep hangin in there, that is the only way.

More people need to remember this group. They had a lot of great stuff.

I had a Best Of, or Greatest Hits, or whatever, by Mothers Finest as my introduction to them. Wasn't feeling it at all, never understood the hubbub. shrug

Harlepolis

Joyce was the TRUTH, Ruth nod

Everytime I hear her wailing in "Truth Will Send You Free" my guts start to shake.

Remember when she flipped it totaly RnB/Soul back in the 80's? razz

I dug her duet with Jeffrey Ousborne "The Last Time I Made Love" music

I remember how they played the whole dumb ass comparision between them & Rufus since both are multi-racial fusion bands who were fronted by ladies and both bands came from Chi-Town. Which is stupid of course coz both bands have their own distinctive sound.

I just bout this cd for like,10 bucks at barnes and noble.I haven't even opened it yet.I heard a cut or 2 on the radio here and had to have it.I didn't even know they had a live album!!

Joyce Kennedy was hot!!I saw her sing at the wedding of one of my friends and Omar hakim many years ago. They are no longer together. Then,I saw Mothers play outside in Atlanta about..damn,10 years ago! I have never seen so many rednecks, brothers and sistas, hells angels types, and yuppies all in one area!!Amazing!
