Thank you! I liked Cita (but then again, I would), with her ghettofabulous self! How 'bout the health and fitness show "Heart & Soul"? Remember Dr. Ro and Mocha Lee? I hated that tired ass theme song, though. Can't forget "Teen Summit." Prince Dajour (sp?) and Ananda. Brett Walker was cute, but no personality, imho.

It seemed like after the first commercial break Chaka was THROUGH with Ms Carter and from that moment on, the interview became comical. I remember when some girl called in and asked Chaka, if she encouraged Milini(her daughter) to pursue a career in music. Chaka's answer was very straight forward.."No , I didn't encourage her, but by not encouraging her, I may have encouraged her"...Very easy to comphrehend..However, Sherry said "I'm not sure I understand what you mean" , Chaka gave her this look that was priceless. I was laughing when Sherri said "If I was you, I'd be like, 'I'm baaad and I know it'" and Chaka looked at her and said, "I guess that's the difference between you and me..." Poor Sherri didn't even realized that she was getting played. But my absolute favorite part of the interview is when Chaka said she'd like to write a song by herself , for once..Then Sherri asked , "well why haven't you written a song by yourself" and Chaka said "because I don't play a musical instrument PER SAY". Then Sherry said, "Well you play the drums". DUMMMMMB!!! Chaka gave her this look like (you idiot), and responded "it would be pretty difficult to write a song on drums" .Then Chaka looked at her sorta pitying her and said "Can you understand how difficult it would be to create a song from the drums?". Chaka's facial gestures spoke volumes as to her dislike for Sherri. Sherri's questions were juvenile (to say the least) and annoying. Chaka was OVER her after the first 10 mins of the interview. Noticed after the commercial break, Chaka had her legs crossed (violently rocking one of her legs), and her arms folded. It was almost like she was trying not to slap her Everytime I show that interview 2 my friends, they'll be rolling on the damn floor [Edited 12/19/04 10:01am] DAYUM!!! Thanks for recaping that intv, sounds absolutely CLASSIC!! MAN, I wish I'd seen that one too! Awww, man!! I don't think I saw that one. Please post a link if you can find it. That sounds funny, a very Chaka!! I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired!

Brett Walker's show was called "In Your Ear" and it came on at 3pm weekdays from 95' to 97'. His show showed unique vidoes that didn't make it to Video Soul. Thank You San Alejo for getting rid of my enemies. :-0

I remember when Taja Sevelle appeared on "Video Soul" with Donnie Simpson. This was in 1988,when her song and video 'Wouldn't You Love To Love Me" came out.Donnie mentioned that he and the folks in the studio absolutely loved her hair, but he may have unintentionally dissed her music...lol..he told her...
"Everyone's talking about how great your hair looks...nobody said anything about the album, but they love your hair" ouch!

I also recall when the reunited Time made an appearance in the summer of 1990.When Donnie mentioned the upcoming "Graffiti Bridge" movie, the guys became kinda embarassed...lol...Donnie then bluntly asked them if they were "trying to distance yourselves from this film".Jimmy Jam explained "We are in the movie, but we didn't direct it",to which Jesse replied "Or write it!".Morris was the only one who said anything positive about the movie."Go see it.It's worth the popcorn",he insisted.

... [Edited 12/21/04 6:47am] I think Jimmy also said he couldn't guarantee that some of them would make it through the editing process. Scenes were filmed with them in it, but would they be in the final cut of the movie? Who knows? haha.

Now that's hilarious! I would have been talking the same shit if I was them. but that made them look even worse because, they were in the movie, but they wouldn't even support it for goodness sakes. Yeah like i would say I sang backup for usher, but the album sucks so don't buy it. that makes me and the artist look pretty bad. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Big Lez also co-hosted shows with Donnie. However, I believe her main gig was Rap City. I remember the episode when R-Kelly was on introducing Aaliyah (RIP)after her first video came out. They were dressed alike in ugly green plaid. At the time it didn't seem weird that a grown man and a teenager were dressed alike, but now that we know more of the story it makes you go "hmmm..."

Those were the days ya'll I hated Sherri Carter and was mad when they combined Video LP and Video Soul
I remember when Janet surprised Donnie during her Rythm Nation tuour and popped out of the elevator She then took him to the venue where the show was and the whole show was filmed from there There was a show that interviewed non-music artists. I remember Martin Lawrence being interviewed and Stacy Dash on there talking about how bad of a father Christopher Williams was to their son, Austin. I can't remember the name of the show or the host...
