2004's Top 10 Bombs

Dutch music-magazine OOR (www.oor.nl) made a list of 10 records, released in 2004, that totally bombed.

And here it is:

Air - Talkie Walkie
Bjork - Medulla
Felix Da Housecat - Devin Dazzle & The Neon Fever
Courtney Love - America's Sweetheart
George Michael - Patience
Alanis Morissette - So Called Chaos
Robi Draco Rosa - Mad Love
Prince - Musicology
Prodigy - Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned

Whadda ya think?

Talkie Walkie was wicked cool!!!
and Medulla was somewhat interesting and nice.

Oh, and Prince mad Blasphemy!

(btw, isn't Oor about the only magazine in the world that made a bigger relevance drop than Rolling Stone?)

Unfortunately, yes.....nod But it is the only thing we have in the Netherland... I believe the criterium of this list is the sales of the record, or lack thereof.....

You read HUMO down there in Belgium? You know, while drinking your Heineken?

A platinum album is hardly a bomb, regardless of how that million was sold.

I think you could add to this list:

Janet Jackson - Damita Jo

that would be number 10.....

Hit a sour spot there, didn't i? What i don't understand is why you dutchies keep bringing it up, i would crawl in a corner and be very ashamed instead biggrin.

Oh, and yes we read Humo here, but it's not really my cup'o tea.

Reason I asked was that I used to read it while living in Belgium, they would come with lists like that.....

"Musicology", Prince's best selling album in maybe 12 or so years, a bomb? Really? It's not my favorite album of his, but credit where credit is due.

Robi Rosa used to be the lead singer of Menudo back in the 1980s. Then he formed his own band Maggie's Dream in the early 90s. After they broke up, he wrote hits for Ricky Martin.

nod But, I'm guessing this list is probably only supposed to apply to the Netherlands...I dunno how DJ sold there, maybe better than Musicology?

That list is LAME. Any 'bomb' list from 2004 that doesn't have Damita Jo near the top of the list will be completely discounted by me smile

lol maybe sales-figures of Damita Jo are non-existent in the Netherlands, and therefore the cd was totally disgarded.....?

Damita Jo sold 5 million copies worldwide. All For You sold 8 million worldwide. So no, not exactly a bomb.
