Did Brian McKnights steal his biggest HIT from Meshel Ndegeocello? I was just listening to Meshells "Plantation Lullaby" album and realised the song "OUTSIDE YOUR DOOR" and realised it sounded just like Brian's "ANYTIME"! at first I thought Brian must have sampled Meshell, but when I checked the credits for "ANYTIME" there is no sample credit!

Yes, MTV brought this up when Anytime came out. He claimed he wrote his song first. But he was quickly checked, because Me'shell's song was written in 92 (I believe.)
When Anytime came out, I was so surpised. I was looking for sample info. I was sure he wasn't taking credit for it. But, no lawsuits come from it. | |
