I actually don't have a preference. Shante had some good singles back in the day. To this day, I constantly get Have a Nice Day stuck in my head, and Bite This is also a good track. Early on in her career, she just sounded way too young. But I love a few of The Real Roxanne's tracks, too. Romeo is good, but it's mostly Full Force's presence - and not her skills - that makes it a good one.

she recorded Full Force's official answer record "The Real Roxanne" with U.T.F.O
very complicated...she resembles the Puerto Rican chick who became the official Real Roxanne. I don't know exactly why Full Force didn't keep her.


The 2 Real Roxanne's whereabout are unknown...however Dr.Roxanne Shante has a succesful Physcology practice in NY...so I hear.

In 1988,there was a song called "Respect" by some woman known as "The Real Roxanne".I remember seeing the video on BET.She was a sexy Puerto Rican chick (a song on her album is titled "Puerto Rican and Proud").Anyone remember this song? I'm pretty sure it was produced by Full Force?

Shante was the 1st to do the answer record... marley recorded this on an acetate.premiered it on the Mr.Magic show and then re recorded the master from the broadcast.. and thats where u hear Magic go "Oh My Goodness" at the end.. this was an actual wbls broadcast placed on Vinyl

A few months ago I was siding with The Real Roxanne based surely on the strength of "Bang Zoom (Let's Go Go)," but lately I've been more keen on Roxanne Shante. The girl can rap, she has sass and their highly memorable. Loved her in Frankie Cutlass' "The Cypher (Part III)." "Roxanne's Revenge" is a classic, too. And the battleraps against UTFO can't be stopped!
