All the artists can be accused of is selling out, and while I hate what I see on TV & hear on the radio, which one of us wouldn't be tempted to be a gangsta rapper/ boy band sellout multimillionaire? There's a lot of truth in what you're saying, but you can't leave the person themself without fault. It's about accountability, and many people are accountable: society for perpetuating it, corporations for cashing in on it, consumers for buying into it and the performer for selling his or her soul (for lack of a better term). It's all apart of the White man's conspiracy anyway. To me the rappers are just acting out what their managers or record companies are telling them to.
