Beastie Boys, live in Amsterdam (Tuesday, 12/14/04)! Never been to a rap/hiphop concert before, I'm kinda happy the Beastie Boys was my first! Has anyone seen them during this tour?
They rocked! [Edited 12/15/04 1:08am]

Okay, just got back.....
Man, I'm exhausted!!!! I haven't seen too many concerts this year (Franz Ferdinand, Pixies, a.o.), but this was a great one to close the year with. The Beastie Boys rock!!!!! From beginning to the end it was a party. The started just the three of them and Mix Master. In fast tempo hits like 'Root Down', 'Sure Shot' end many others came by. After a solo by Mix Master, the stage rotated and there was a full live-band! All dressed in suits, MCA on bass, Mike D on the drums, Ad Rock on guitar and some others on keys and bongo's. They played some stony instrumentals like 'Sabrosa', 'Something's Gotta Give' and others. Then they got back rapping again with Mix Master on the wheels. Christ, it rocked.....excellent skills, superb comic-relief, great great raps! I had never been to a rap-show, I think I will never see anything better than this in this genre! 'Brass Monkey', 'No Sleep Till Brooklyn'.....they all came by! In the end, after a slamming 'Whatcha Want' they performed 'Intergalactic' from the VIP-balcony in an exploding way. After that lights went on, the Amsterdam audience tried to catch a breath.....Then the band came back.....again playing their instruments. With 'Gratitude' & 'Sabotage' (dedicated to George W.) they closed the slamming show! This was the best concert this year.....they blew away the Pixies..... Rap is not black, rap is not white.....rap is jewish and from NYC

Awesome. It reminds me of when I saw them in '94 and became a fan. I didn't know they were playing their instruments on this tour. Bonus!

I've been meaning to catch one of their shows. Not a bad group to get you initiated.

I was there last night, front row.
It was the third time i saw them live and they were/are amazing. If i would have known you were also there we could have had a beer together. WHAT IF THERE IS NO TOMORROW? THERE WASN'T ONE TODAY!

Oh, it wasn't you who caught my almost full beer in your neck when 'Sure Shot' kicked in??? Really, I totally lost it, and I think I have never seen so much beer flying around before as I saw last night! Really too bad we didn't know! I had such a great time and I am so impressed!
