To me New Wave is Blondie, Gerry Newman, Devo, A Flock Of Seagulls, Missing Persons, Modern English, Adam Ant, Billy Idol, Cyndi Lauper, Thompson Twins, Duran Duran, Boy George, Madonna (Boy Toy), Prince (Rude Boy), Berlin. All are New Wave, the look, the style. the synthesizer sound. Not the Cure, The Cure are more spooky sounding. More Goth. like The Funeral Party, Charlotte Sometimes and 100 years (Lovecats and the Walk sound like New Wave but the Cure are more Goth) Goodnight, sweet Prince.

T-Rex started Glam Rock, Glam (Bowie) influnced Goth (Bauhaus and The Cure). Lets Go to Bed sounds does sound like New Wave, Lets Go To Bed was a experimental single. The Cure are not manstream enough to be New Wave. The Cure are to moody and depressed to be a New Wave group. Does the Funeral Party sound New Wave? Robert Smith is always moaning. thanks again for that. and for the partial setlist!!! For me too! I'm so glad you came up there with us. I laughed, cried, screamed and danced so hard. It was one of those concerts that I really NEEDED. They just keep delivering on every level. And that setlist was sublime! God, I hope they come back again next year.

I'm so glad we got to share that night with you.

But I did see Morrissey, who in my estimation, was better. So I can't really complain.
By the way, remember when Robert made a guest appearance on South Park to battle Barbara Streisand? NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

How can you say he was better when you didn't see The Cure show? I saw both and The Cure killed it. Their show was far more focused, passionate and interesting than Moz's. His band was tight and the song selection was nice, but he seemed a bit bored or flat or tired or something. But of course I like The Cure a gazillion times more so I'm not exactly a fair judge.

True. But I can't be completely objective since I know both artists and what they're capable of. Your assessment isn't only unfair, it's totally invalid since you didn't go to the Cure show.

Au contraire. Although I didn't actually see The Cure live, I caught some of that show online. I was impressed, but not as impressed as I was with Moz. Don't you think being there would make a wee bit of difference? And seeing the whole thing?

Don't you think being there would make a wee bit of difference? And seeing the whole thing? I think that makes a big difference. I think there's even a big difference between watching it online and watching it on a real TV.
