(i love) ROCK ?

Hello everyone.
I'd like to know who's into rock here.
I don't mean hard à la linkin park rock, but something slightly more delicate:
radiohead
oasis
beatles
matthew good band
cat stevens
rolling stones
ttd
coldplay
bruce springsteen
U2
ani di franco
our lady peace
led zep
the doors

and the list goes on and on...

anything from brit pop to 70's tunes.
Let's discuss!

I spent the 80s loving hard rock/heavy metal: Ozzy, Van Halen, Whitesnake, Iron, etc
I still like some of them. In my heart, I am a rocker, although now I opened my mind and love jazz and funk too. But I still search for a real good rock band, with good guitar players (too bad the 90s didnt have bands with good players - except for Living Colour)

I agree with ALOT of your favorites: Radiohead first and foremost, U2, The Beatles and Bruce Springsteen. These are awesome choices.

Here's my opinion of Radiohead: they make art out of sounds. It seems like they did their "mainstream" album (Pablo Honey) just to get noticed, but then went on and did what they wanted to. I have all of their albums and all of their B-sides are EP's. I also have the DVD "Meeting People Is Easy" which is nice, too. I love the new abstract sound, but I also hope they do some real "songs" soon too.

I disagree with only one of your choices: Oasis. They are musically talented but have NO ORIGINAL SOUND. They are simply the Beatles.

I like U2 alot !!
But I really can't see any "rock" in Cat Stevens !!!
Some rock that I also like: Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Status Quo, Deep Purple and much hardrock from the 70's !
Busy doin' something close to nothing

TRON

I live for it! Some of my favorite stuff is rock. I guess I like what can be classified as alternative- Bowie, Iggy Pop, The Doors, Ramones, Talking Heads, Blondie, The Cure, Joy Division, New Order, U2, Pixies, Chili Peppers, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins, Liz Phair, PJ Harvey, etc. I also like some simpler stuff like Joan Jett and the Strokes. I've always been intrigued by Radiohead but haven't gotten into them yet. I guess I'm waiting for the right time.

Hey Jamie, If you like Jeff Buckley I urge you to check out David Garza. He's the only artist i know right now who's filled the void left by buckley. Great singer/songwriter with a knack for melodic tunes. He's another of the countless artists whose label doesn't know how to promote, check out the album "This Euphoria", great shite.

Buckley: have y'all ever heard of wide mouth mason? HE has a similar voice, and hisn songs (especially acoustic ones) are very Buckley-esque.
Radiohead, agreed, they're great cos not predictable.
Oasis: i dunno, they make perfect pop songs, and like a friend say, u cannot say that there's no more depth to Liam G. when u listen to 'don't go away'.He's SOULFUL singing that song!
David Bowie is my personal hero.

I Also forgot:
the strokes
the white stripes, yes
jeff buckley, of course
wide mouth mason
blur (new Damon Albarn coming out today, and it's african alike music!)
Kravitz
LOu Reed
ect ect
