May he be a 1 hit wonder pray

Hehe, yeah, you can include him too. I honestly don't see anything worthwhile from him again.

As for the rap one-hit wonders of 2004...

J-Kwon - Tipsy
Dem Franchize Boyz - White Tee
Cassidy - Hotel (feat. R. Kelly)

Someone knows there one hit wonders. I have to ask, can you think of any house/club vocalist that had any hits or any impact on the charts this year? I can't. Many dance music artists now tend to be one hit wonders, but now of days they are no-hit wonders.

If you're talking about Billboard's Hot 100, then no. None of them. Dance music hasn't had mainstream success in the U.S. since Kylie Minogue's "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" in 2002 (and even that didn't go to #1 in the US -- only #7) You can count most of the BIG dance songs on your hand, that's how few there are.

The U.S has completely ignored dance music, do they play it n the radio there?I remember the dance music press here in europe were REALLY pissed off when Janet's ALL 4 U won best dance record at the grammys. They thought americans just had no idea what dance music was (it wasn't dising the track or Jan just that it wasn't a dance record it was a pop record)

"Caught Out There" went to #9 on the U.S. R&B charts. The question is do R&B hits count as hits?

what it is was a busta rhymes song. And Popualr Thug (The Remix with Nas was on the Neptunes Clones Compilation) wasn't a big hit in the U.S. Beacuse her second LP was only released over seas. That album probably her best tho.

I have no idea who Coheed and Cambria are but Lindsay would need one hit in order to be a one hit wonder. "Rumours" ain't going to be it becuase according to Allmusic.com, which might need an update, it's only charted at 23 on some minor chart. Not even in the Top 100.

I need to take a small poll:

"Pieces Of Me". Great single?

I think it's catchy but the whole idea of Phony Simpson just makes my skin crawl. Am I being too hard on the little pop strumpet?

BTW critics seem to love the single which sparked my question.

And if this poser sports another one of her rock t-shirt collection I'll puke. The latest, Adam Ant.

Yep. People may not know it by its proper name, but if you say, "You know that one song where the girl screams 'I hate you so much right now....AHHHHH!'" they know what you're talking about. It was a pretty big hit.

nod Right on the friggin' money.

Believe me, as a Kelis fan pre-"Milkshake." I've had to belt out that hook many a-time to get folks to understand who I'm talking about. "Caught Out There" was a hit. It was on MTV back in late 1999/early 2000 and was considered "Buzzworthy."

No it wasn't, but then again hardly any rock songs are lately. Almost everything is sent to radio only and not to retail.

"Are You Gonna Be My Girl" went to #3 on the U.S. modern rock chart in January and peaked at #29 on the Hot 100 a few months later. The followup "single", "Cold Hard Bitch" was a #1 U.S. modern rock song and went to #55 on the Hot 100.

So, given what you just typed, would you dub them a one-hit wonder?
