Can you believe that our very own Sheila E actually recorded a cover version of "Right Here Waiting"? Why Sheila why?

I hate shelia and her albums anyway, except "the belles of saint mark" which was cool.I never did like "right here waiting", I always skip it! Sheila's voice sucks.....

This album sounds cool today, no denying "satisfied" is a classic song whilst "children of the night" is a classic power ballad

shocked
You need to get her self titled 1986 album and that will change your mind on Shelia. Yeah, "The Glamourous Life", despite an awesome title track, was just OK. "Romance 1600", with an even funkier hit single, was just bland. "Shelia E." from 1986 is where she is in the zone and it sounds like fun and funky eighties R&B, pop, jazz, funk...it's just good!

You all can talk shit about this man if you want to but I happen to like alot of his ballads. My personal favorite were Endless Summer Nights and Right Hear Waiting.

Some of you are unaware that both Richard and Shelia have common roots. At one time, they both use to work for Lionel Richie. Shelia was Lionel's percussionist while Richard did background vocals
.

Richard Marx used to sing backup for Lionel Richie... he also co-wrote a lot of Luther Vandross' music, including "Dance With My Father".

I love his voice... and still enjoy "Right Here Waiting".

hmph!

nod Thesexofit, your not the only one that wasn't fond of Shelia. Without a dout, Richard has a better voice hands down. All Shelia is good for in my opinion is her percussion playing and thats all.

It's worth giving a listen. I have no problem with Richard Marx, but to bash Shelia E. in the same thread is really over the line.
