I was hatin' on this song awhile back, and alot of orgers not tryna give this song a chance.

But now it has grown on me, and I actually didn't hit snooze on my alarm clock because I heard this song.

woot! thanks for helping me drag my ass into work, Snoop!

I don't want to buy the album though. But there's no CD single for it in my stores! confused

I am curious to hear thoughts on the album as well. If "Drop It Like It's Hot" is indicative of the sound of the project in general, I'm not interested. That song is terrible IMO.

I suspect there are a couple of references to hoes, weed and Crips throughout the CD.

Just a stab in the dark. shrug

"Drop It Like It's Hot" sounds like a Casio:My First Keyboard loop. Seems like Pharell is running out of material.

actually i heard another track on the radio (wgci) during "whispers in the dark". this track was caught me by surprise 'cause it sounds sorta like a steve arrington/slave track. eventhough snoop is suposedly gangsta rap, he is known to be a long time admirer of 70s soul music and funk so i wasn't surprised.

Superb album. His best since "Doggystyle". Buy it.

We can hope, can't we? I read this morning that some movie producer wants to do a movie based on his life. I can't believe anyone would want to see this, but then again, it just might open peoples eyes as to who and what he really is, which is a thug and a druggie. Maybe they could call the movie "how I got away with murder and learned to roll a huge motherfuckin blunt". Now he claims to have straightened his life out because of his kid. Yeah, I really believe that. IMO - it's called having money. He's still the same asshole he always was.

Exactly. It's not even really a "song" at all, just some skimpy beats thrown together, and a catchy, yet annoying phrase repeated over and over.No melody to speak of.

I'm not sure "hilarious" is the correct way to describe this movie, but I'm quite sure there will be millions flocking to the theatre to see it. Sad, but true.

you're absolutely right but it's still pretty good and i'm not into gangsta rap at all. the lyrics are down right offensive, especially to women. i try to ignore the lyrics but the music is funky.

Beyond playing the shit out of but that's the way radio works now. It's not bad. I love the music but it seriously isn't much a song.

I agree but there is popular and then there is damn near overkill! All the stuff on radio is overkill.

This is Snoop's best album since 1993's Doogystyle. He has some nice 70's and 80's flavored Funk and R&B on the CD. It is good.

The best track is the Curtis Mayfield remake "O' Thang on Me"
Also, "Lets Get Blown" kind of sounds like Slaves "Watching You". "I Love 2 Give You Light" sounds like an 70's soul cut."Perfect" with Charlie Wilson and Pharrell is a 80's type jam, reminds me of Mtume. Another banger is "Up's and Downs" and Sings with J. Timberlake is another nice track.

Overall, a good CD.
