MrTation said: "Tramp" is my favorite but they are all great.... That's Otis at his playful best. A few choice verses... You know what, Otis? What? You're country. That's all right. You straight from the Georgia woods. That's good. You know what? You wear overalls, and big old brogan shoes, and you need a haircut, Tramp. Haircut? Woman, you foolin'...ooh...I'm a lover. You know what, Otis? I don't care what you say, you're still a tramp. What? That's right. You haven't even got a fat bankroll in your pocket. You probably haven't even got twenty-five cents. I got six Cadillacs, five Lincolns, four Fords, six Mercuries, three T-Birds, Mustang, ooooohhh...I'm a lover. You're a tramp, Otis. No I'm not. I don't care what you say, you're still a tramp. What's wrong with that? Look here. You ain't got no money. I got everything. You can't buy me all those minks and sables and all that stuff I want. I can buy you minks, rats, frogs, squirrels, rabbits, ...anything you want, Woman. I tend to favor his more dramatic tunes like Try A Little Tenderness and That's How Strong My Love Is. But just like you said, they're all great. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. I never could really get into Otis. Now if my brother-in-law was in here, he could really give you guys a run for your money. Andy is a four letter word.

I admit that he's not a singer in the classic sense. (The same could be said of James Brown) To me he's one male vocalist that could inject genuine emotion to the lyrics of songs like I've Been Loving You Too Long and Try A Little Tenderness without sounding forced. And he never had pitch problems. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

The one song i feel Otis did an incredible job of was "These Arms Of Mine". But it's odd, because I always felt Otis' material was covered better by other artists. I have mucho respect for him as a songwriter, and felt he should have done that exclusively. And I never could bring myself to like "(Sittin' On) The Dock Of The Bay". Oh well

I thought you were a Southern Soul Man? Nothing personal against Otis. Actually, I think he's a wonderfully talented artist and some of his songs I can deal with but not really fully get into. I guess my brother-in-law kinda turned me off when it comes to Otis Redding. He's an ex-DJ and at every party, you know you are going to hear some Otis. When he starts to feeling his alcohol, he may play a whole set of nothing but back to back Otis. One night it felt like it was endless. Andy is a four letter word.

When it comes to Otis Redding, though, he is a hardcore fanatic. He eats, sleeps, and breathes Otis. Andy is a four letter word.

There's not a whole lot of 1960s music that I'm really into. My tastes are broadening more and more every day now, though. I've really been getting into Booker T & The MGs and Jr. Walker & The Allstars lately. Andy is a four letter word.

Well the bottom line is that it looks like we all appreciate Otis Redding for something to some degree.
