What original modern Christmas songs do you dig the most? Here are a few of mine:

Christmastime is Here: Vince Guaraldi Trio

What Christmas Means to Me: Stevie Wonder

Give Love On Christmas Day: The Jackson 5

Another Lonely Christmas: Prince & The Revolution

My Christmas Tree: The Temptations

Christmas In Hollis: Run-DMC

Anxiety

i just heard a parody of queen's "bohemian rhapsody" that had all the lyrics rewritten to be about christmas...not only is it incredibly silly, but they did a really great job with the music. i think it's my favorite 'new' christmas song, at least for this year. it's silly without being completely obnoxious.

One song that still gets to me around this time of year is "Someday At Christmas" ~ the Jackson 5ive version. "Maybe not in time for you and me...but someday at Christmastime..." touched

I do too, but something about the boys singing it gets to me. The hopeful sounds of young kids singing, "Someday at Christmas men will not have failed; hate will be gone and love will prevail" gets me every time.

And how far back are we going? I dunno - I love a lot of these tracks others are mentioning, I just don't know what would be considered modern? Cuz if the 60s are modern, then the greatest Christmas album of all time would be on there: A Christmas Gift for You by Phil Spector smile

I guess that "modern" would be from late 50's-early 60's to the present. Post "White Christmas"/"Rudolph" if you will.
