Don't buy the box set from amazon.com. They will charge you your first born for an import copy. There is no U.S. release date as of yet, but the band has promised that one will be announced soon. (I don't know what soon means.) U.S. fans that can't wait can purchase the import from www.cdwow.com. They have it listed at £17.99 with free shipping to the U.S.

Is it a "complete" boxset as in ALL B-sides, or just a selection of B-sides? Good news for the remasters, about time to put my vinyls to rest... Neversin. O(+>NIИ<+)O

Every b-side to every banshees single is included except: El Dia De Los Muertos (Espiritu Mix) - the original version is included instead Love In A Void - The a-side "Mittageisen" is instead included on the box set since it has never appeared on CD before while "Love In A Void" (a slightly different version) can be found on the Once Upon A Time CD. The File 7" - Neither the a-side, "Head Cut (live)" nor the b-side "Running Town (live)" from the fan club only single are included.

I got my copy of 'Downside Up' in the mail yesterday from CDWOW (about ten days after ordering it). The discs sound great and I love the illustrations on the box set, but the overall design is I feel a bit too minimalist--almost nondesigned if there is such a word--especially when compared to the much flashier-looking 'Join The Dots'. Nevertheless, I'm very happy to have many of these tracks on CD for the first time finally. And the liner notes for each track are interesting and often very funny. It was worth the long wait.
GangstaFam, Robert Smith plays on only one track, unfortunately. This is what Steve Severin says about "There's A Planet In My Kitchen": "In hindsight Robert and myself probably rushed into the Hyaena sessions too early. After all the extra-curricular activities of 1982 we could have done with a month's rest but Robert was being lured back towards The Cure so we booked into Angel Studios with no plan, no material. However, Mike Hedges was raring to go, so while we were working up new material he contrived to record anything and everything! Including Siouxsie washing the dishes in the studio canteen." There was another anecdote about visiting The Cure and watching them do coke as they recorded 'Pornography'. [Edited 12/21/04 16:56pm]

Oooh, tell me, tell me! I would, but the band didn't give any details. It was when they were recording the b-side "Coal Mind". According to Budgie: "Recorded and mixed in two nights down the Old Kent Road with pie and mash for dinner, we visited The Cure who were doing Pornography and coke in St John's Wood; not a pretty sight!"
