Anyone for a "MJ Case" Sticky thread?
Just yesterday our neighbors were haven a party with 90s euro trash music. I could resist to open our windows and give 'em some "workin day 'n night". BlueNote

But WE are all pretty close to start singing "The Party is Over" http://www.courttv.com/ne...d_ctv.html Fingerprints, DNA and the latest searches By Diane Dimond Court TV Dec. 9, 2004 — The Court TV Investigative Unit can now report that something defense attorney Brian Oxman blurted out to the New York Post (see below) last weekend is true. Forensic tests on evidence taken from Neverland in November 2003 have detected the presence of three separate samples of male DNA. While Oxman says none of the DNA matched the young accuser's, our sources contradict that. The now 15-year-old’s genetic fingerprint was, indeed, among those gathered from the pop star’s bedroom. So, who belongs to the other two samples? Our very reliable, confidential sources say one is Michael Jackson; the third could be from yet another youngster. Watch this space. Speaking of fingerprints, the National Enquirer cites sources saying “Michael Jackson’s fingerprint and his accuser’s fingerprint (were) on the SAME PAGE of a pornographic magazine” taken as evidence from the pop star’s bedroom. “One of the magazines police confiscated was Barely Legal…it features adult women dressed in sexy young outfits to make them look like teenagers.” Court TV's I-Unit can confirm the report of the fingerprints on the magazine, but our sources say the prints were not found on the same page, only within the same magazine. Still, this would lend credence to the young accuser’s claim that Jackson had a secret stash of pornography in his bedroom suite and he used it to arouse him. I think this thread should have focused on the music. Oh well.

(Pic captured from "She's Out Of My Life" -- a video I rarely see) I remember hearing about how much he hates that video. He thought he was ugly. He was sooooo cute in this era. I can't believe he thought he was ugly and needed to change himself so drastically. I just wanna pinch his cheeks in this photo. I'll leave graffiti where you've never been kissed

And, ahem, staying on topic.....This is a fantastic album!!! I bought the remastered version a few months ago and have been listening to it a lot since then. I was born in 1979 and really only started with the Thriller and Bad albums and totally overlooked Off The Wall until a while ago. It was a great purchase, I'm well chuffed I'll leave graffiti where you've never been kissed

Definitely one of the top ten albums I’d take with me if I had to be left on an island somewhere and probably Michael’s best work. It’s such a solid collection of great musicians, writers, guest vocalists, etc. It reminds me of one big party. Michael and Patti’s voices work so well together. My favorites are the obvious:
Don’t Stop Off the Wall Rock With You I Can’t Help It (better than a Stevie/MJ duet anyday) But whenever I rediscover it I get blown away by Get On Floor and Working Day and Night and Burn This Disco Out. I think the magic lies in the album having more than one word in the title. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

[they were here] i'm bettin that he and prince got their boots from the same damned store...the similarities to the "rock with you" and "iwbyl" vids are just uncanny: they were about the same age, had these shiny boots and funky outfits, were dancin around in front of these lights/laser-things/whatever, they were both adorable at the time... i've been meanin to get a hold of a copy of off the wall on vinyl but haven't gotten around to it.

jacktheimprovident said: Off the wall was my introduction to Michael Jackson and I must say that it's one of the first albums that was such a flawlessly enjoyable listen all the way through. I wonder what it would have been like if Michael wrote all the songs and used the stripped down approach that we see on the demo versions. Perhaps something like Dirty Mind?
Well the demos for "Workin' Day And Night" and "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" are quite awesome even in their stripped-down instrumentation -- still very melodic!

[Edited 12/10/04 10:10am] There is a big misconception that should be explained. This album was not disco. Any music historian will tell you that this album was not disco. It's just like when I people say Barry White was an disco "king", or whatever, but his music was not disco. To me, disco music never had great music arrangements.

Arguably MJ's best album. It's my favorite from him. This album is in the middle of his "golden period" for me. This period is intertwined with albums he recorded with his brothers...beginning with Destiny, Off The Wall, Triumph and Thriller. I liked MJ during this period because he was not chasing trends, he had not gone totally pop and he was actually working with some great musicians. Furthermore, I actually think MJ works better when he is writing, arranging and producing himself without help from every "hot" producer of the period.

Yeah, so you're into Jacksons Live and stuff like "Heartbreak Hotel (This Place Hotel)"? I do not mind Jacksons live (not that u were asking me) and I love some of "triumph" and even "destiny", the title track is cool! The Jacksons albums were very underappreciated by the public, songs like "give it up" "wondering who" "Walk right now" "destiny" "wait" "one more chance" "nothin (that compares to u)" "she" r all great tracks.....

My favorite song on the album was, and remains to be: "I Can't Help It". I remember it being the b-side to the 7" 45 single of "Bad" in `87

Wow an instrumental of "man in the mirror" or a track off a zillion selling album that everyone fucking owns already! Plus the fact he has supposed has millions of outtakes he coulda used really pissed me off.....his 12" up until "dangerous" were even worse.....Mikeal sucks at b sides Only good one was the "remember the time" b side.....u got "come together" whcih had not been released on HIStory yet, and it is longer then the HIStory version too.....

But MJ had hot remixes! Club mixes for Off The Wall. Jellybean remixed shit for Thriller.
I remember the "Jam" b-side was a MASTERS AT WORK house remix of "Rock With You" and was just awesome.

I got 'Off The Wall' as an Easter present when I was in 6th grade.
Later that day, I wrecked my bike and broke my foot. Regardless, it was still a great day, cause I finally had my own copy of Don't Stop Till You Get Enough, which I thought was the absolute shit. Still do. Great album. Somehow, Thriller didn't give me the same rush later on--And he seemed to be turning corny and cornier by the minute. No doubt he was a force of nature and all that, but doin' an E.T. record? And whoever was saying that Disco music didn't have great arrangements needs to go back and do some digging . . . start with looking up something called 'the Philly sound.'
