Great question. I don't know much about her either, but I do love her music and her voice. I love to see an artist who is able to keep some of their private life private. Some people are attention junkies, but she doesn't seem to want the spotlight. I think that's great!

I do know that a few years ago, she was deported from Jamaica for attacking a diplomat or something. Can someone confirm this though?

I read that she studied fashion design & modeled on the side and became a singer by accident

That's right, and she designed clothes for Spandau Ballet too.

She truly has managed to keep a low profile over the decades. I remember she was wanted by the police in Jamaica awhile back but even that was low-key. It's nice to be a fan of someone who's every move isn't monitored in the tabloids and on TV every day. I miss her sometimes but you get the music you want and not a lot of extra crap.

The jamaica incident had to do with driving drunk. She outran the cop and then never showed up in court.

I am utterly in love with Sade. I love the fact that she has never succumbed to being a "celebrity." Along with her stunning beauty, incredible poise and leagues-deep talent, this just cements it for me. It makes her seem like such a real person.

Even though we don't get much in quantity from Sade, I sure do appreciate the quality. Everything she serves up is worth the wait.
