no melody, no interesting lyrics, no depth. and the man does not play the guitar. he says so himself. van hunt plays most of the instruments on HIS album. hunt is the real deal...luther has no future in music. As for Van Hunt, I wouldn't consider him to be too original neither. He has some definite Prince and Curtis Mayfield influences working for him especially on this one cut I heard on his album called Moments of Pleasure which is a bluesy type tune. seconds of pleasure it's called. sure, van hunt is influenced by those cats, but he brings some actual SONGWRITING to the table, unlike this martin luther cat.

Ok, so , he may have the songwriting down but he is still the beginning stages. I saw him live and I wasn't impressed much. However, I do feel that he will evolve overtime bet more on point.

I heard his latest single and I am inclined to agree with you Dewrede. Vocally, it just seemed like something was missing. Of course, he may be one of those kind of artist that you need to see live to feel him out. That's what I thought when I first heard his new single. It was like he sounded nice, but I wasn't going to get into him because I didn'tknow if he could really sing or not. Listen to Rise on his site. It's the second song after Daily Bread and listen to it loud so you can feel it. His voice is definitely there, and he also has three songs on there of him performing live. Click on BBC! That's not true at all. Listen to Ms. America. It's on the BBC thing. His lyrics and music is more innovative and uplifting then Van Hunt's will ever be. I don't like to compare but you are bringing him down just to boost Van Hunt up. Why can't you just give both their props? Studiotraffic-One of the fastest ways to get payed on the net!

[Edited 12/8/04 21:46pm] Neither of you are actually listening. There is nothing boring about this guy and I bet that you don't even know what Rise is about. Studiotraffic-One of the fastest ways to get payed on the net!
