"gangsters paridise" is a song I remember everyone in my school buying, it was a step up from Hammer and VIP (vanilla ice)

I heard that Coolio is doing 'Heineken's Night of the Proms'? Some gangsta.....

I remember working in a recordstore at the time Gangsta's Paradise was huge.

And playing Songs In THe Key Of Life.

And a youngster in the store saying; "Hey! They sampled Coolio! Who is this?"

Call me a snob.

He destroyed "Pastime Paradise" with his ominous rambling. And he didn't add anything of much substance to Stevie's DVD for the making of SITKOL. Unessential.

Coolio still does nothing for me. I hated Fantastic Voyage....I even hated the original song.

For this reason alone, "Fantastic Voyage" reminds me of the summer that I graduated High School. To say the least, I had one hell of a summer that year and it was only to get better (college)... even without the alcohol. I never bought any album, I recall this song/video on mtv/vh1 overplayed. The video was cool(io) ya have to admit, nothing fancy though. As to his recent whereabouts...?

I remember Weird Al's version of "Gansters Paradise"/"Amish Paradise" was, well, Weird Al's usual humor. Thought it was funny then, would feel different about it now.
