Fantasia's "Free Yourself" is out...

Any1 copped it? I didnt even know it was released until I saw it on LP today @ Cheapos in Minneapolis.

After listening to 45 second samples of the whole CD, I wasnt that impressed. Alot of the songs are mid-tempo. Its a mix of mostly R&B beyonce type jams and some Missy-like ballads. I will say though it sounded much better than Ruben Studdard's album, and she should have at least 2 or 3 good singles off of it.

Once again I hope she does not get lost in the industry because she has a very good voice that should not pass the world by.

I hope someone speaks for the 1000 rats they had to kill so she could wear that on the cover.

nod Exactly. I heard that all of the American Idol artist are contractally bond to Simon. Now, this is a damn shame.

True, but which Simon? The owner of 19 Entertainment is Simon Fuller and not Cowell (from American Idol). confuse

I got this album last week and I really like it. A very nice effort and you can tell a lot of the songs were written especially for her. I wish she would have done some writing though so she can really get paid, but her cd is getting much play in my cd player.

Simon Cowell manages the artist and gets a large percentage of the AI artists earnings hands down regardless of who owns the show. The bottom line is that the Simon C owns the AI artists and that they will see a small percentage of their earnings. As we all now, contracts can be a bitch if your new to the biz (haven't you learned anything from Prince.)

I havent seen anyhting. Strange is that Kelly Klarkson's big head is out on display and her AND Ruben's aklbums are shelved in their isles..I didnt even know Ruben HAD a new CD out. Very bad promotion.
