But I do agree that Janet should just do what she wants musically and that includes being proud of Damita Jo. At one point, I would think an artist has to just forget about winning awards and tearing up the charts in favor of retaining his/her artistic integrity.

I would love Janet to tour, but the truth is that during the A4Y tour, Janet would often say that touring was too much of a grind. In fact, she even looked a bit worn-out during the promo tour for Damita Jo, and I don't think it completely due to the controversy. I think it's just hard living out of a suitcase and being away from home for a few months. Maybe she's just tired and wants to focus on her personal life. I mean, why not? She has already had major success and experienced touring. It's like "been there, done that." Plus, she might want to be there for Michael and the rest of her family, too.
