they came, wanted to be the allstar-rockband, the return to hair-rock, claimed to be sober..... then everybody saw that they were really nothing new, exactly that: another hair-band! then everybody was reaffirmed of what they knew already: hair-bands suck, and are so last century! period!

Don't listen to these idiots! These guys rock fucking hard! The album is the GnR album that never was and Scott Weiland is a great compliment to Slash's riffs. Slither is the best thing on rock radio since...well...I can't remember when. I loved the album immediately (and still do) and saw them in concert recently and the show was killer. Check out VH1 this weekend there is a show about the making of the album and the struggles Scott is constantly having with heroin. Good show.

Yes. The album rocks but only like the first half or so in my opinion. But these days, that usually means it is a good album. It seems to be a good match and a great idea. A great frontman without his talented band gets together with a band who used to have a great frontman.Although I heard in concert they do stupid things like spitting on their fans or something like that.

[Edited 12/5/04 7:09am] hehe.... in between 86-91 i was 16-21 years old, so i was there for guns n roses the first time. you got tired of this disc? i thought it was a little bit of a breath of fresh air....something different (albeit a bit old style) in the rock n roll musical climate. i don't know why you called it hair metal (cuz i never considered guns to be hair metal), if anything, i just looked at it as post-grunge rock n roll more than anything else. it's not the best album, but definitely not the worst out there right now IMHO. edit:: actually, here's a question: would this album have been better if it was axl rose and not scott weiland? how about joshua todd formerly of buckcherry (who was rumored to become the lead vocalist of velvet revolver before scott weiland)? --gm-- [Edited 12/5/04 14:29pm] i....feel.... cold as a razorblade, tight as a tourniquet, dry as a funeral drum......

VR's music sound very outdated, and if see them it only contributes to that statement. Also, I must admit, I could never stand Scott Weiland, and I never will. Also: time's up for Slash's long guitar-solo's and -poses.....like I said: last century! [Edited 12/5/04 14:34pm]

[Edited 12/5/04 14:34pm] LMFAO.... yeah, that IS a lot of hair. however.... i dunno.... when guns was out, they were different than what else was going on at that time in metal. what was different? their songs were GROOVE BASED. listen to something like "rocket queen"'s lead line. if that song didn't come out, motley crue would have NEVER released something like "dr. feelgood". they just didn't have it in them, and i think that guns n roses pushed the other metal bands at that time in that direction. so that's why i never considered them just another "hair metal" band---they deserved a better distinction than that. like you said, it may be SOOOOO last century, but all that shit ends up coming back in style in time. --gm-- i....feel.... cold as a razorblade, tight as a tourniquet, dry as a funeral drum......

Opinions, opinions, opinions, I can't complain 'cause thats what I asked for. Seems 50/50% though. I was crazy 'bout both GnR and STP when I was younger, I just hope they will continue to please.
I might just steal it from a store, though even thats a bit tricky these days now. Thanks for the info. See you in bond call!
