Her latest, The Emancipation of Mimi (that’s her nickname!), hits stores March 22. The disc has “fun, cool stuff that everyone can sing along to,” Carey told Us at a Fresh Air Fund Thanksgiving party in Brooklyn, New York City, on November 24. “This album has a retro theme; it’s Minnie Riperton meets Pattie LaBelle meets DeBarge.”
Mariah is set to star on Broadway – in her own show! Hot Stuff has learned that Carey will create, produce and star in a yearly, Christmas-themed musical, set to debut next year. “It will be an event for people to look forward to, like the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall,” manager Benny Medina tells Hot Stuff. .
