Bjork's new single: Triumph of a Heart

Yay! Good choice.

Here's what they're saying at www.bjork.com.

"Triumph of the heart" will be Björk new single of Medúlla. The release is penned in for an early February release, making it Björk's first release of 2005.

The video to the song is directed by Spike Jonze, a long time collaborator and it is shot on location in Iceland, as was her previous video of "Who Is It".

The most prominent location of the video is a bar in Reykjavík called Sirkus, where we will see a new performance of the Triumph of the Heart by the clientele of the bar. It is a in fact a completely new live section of the song. The video is very adventurous, as it carries a very interesting storyline. smile

We can expect to see the video very early 2005. And some more stills from the video to come.

Well, "Hidden Place" was the most effects-y of all. It's basically a Bjork screensaver.

I think "Pagan Poetry" and "It's In Our Hands" are really outstanding.

I think she's picking the right ones. I mean really...do any of her songs seem like singles? Sure for her to make videos and have remixes, but none of them ever get any play. When I first heard Medulla, what I thought should be singles jumped right out at me: Oceania, Who Is It?, Triumph of a Heart and Desired Constellation. She seems to be picking the right ones.

I really liked the demo-Version of that song that was on the net before the album was released. The Album-Version is as disappointing as most of "Medulla" is. I only like "Oceania" and "Pleasure is all mine".

Hope it comes with remixes that have, I don't know, instruments or something. This album totally failed to live up to its hype. All-vocal? Great! I thought Bjork was gonna do all the work herself. I'd love that! All-vocal, meaning Bjork sings boring melodies while a bunch of idiots who I don't care about do Chewbacca and R2-D2 imitations in the background? No thank you!

The best thing about her saying that instruments are over (regarding the lack of them on Medula) is that when she discovers them again it will be the bomb.

I think about her saying that after her greatest hits and Family Tree that she had mapped out her entire personality musically, and that she could go anywhere from there. I feel like Medulla was her way of starting over with the strictest limiations possible. And she made the most of it. I was dreading the idea of an instrument-free Bjork outing, but it really surprised me. In a good way. She can only expand from here.
