OK, OK, . .. I'm doing my diary about them both and some others, a sort of year end round up.

he should spend less time on the internet and buying other people's albums and use this downtime from the heart attack and lollipop eye and write/record a new one of his own. i'm going to be jonesing for him in about 3 months because he spoiled us with the last 2 by putting them out so close together.

(seriously, the last passionate shout-out i heard from him was about grandaddy, and i freakin' LOVE them. i'm seriously tempted to check out the arcade fire.)

I haven't heard one note of their music, but the write-ups I've seen have captured my interest. Worth investigating, I think...

the arcade fire cd is great! i hear some intense bowie influence on it so i can't say i'm surprised that he's so into the cd. there's also some talking heads sounding stuff in there, too. cool record.

it's funny...when they came out, NO, i really didn't like them at all. i thought they were boring and my headspace was so into the really vibrant, experimental bowie stuff at the time (i'd just started getting into him back then) that i didn't wanna hear him doing straight-forward rock. but over the past couple of years, i've revisited the first tin machine album and i have to say it's really good stuff. i especially like "i can't read" and the cover of "working class hero".
