Smiths - Bigmouth Strikes Again and all of THE QUEEN IS DEAD album.

I have never been so instantly affected by music since. And from that moment on, I was officially declared a complete and utter SMITHS-head. biggrin

When I was sixteen, I was lucky enough to have a fairly hip friend who loaned me a copy of Lou Reed’s compilation album “Rock and Roll Diary”. The album itself is a pretty dodgy mix of VU classics and middling selections from Lou’s erratic seventies albums. However, the first two tracks were Waiting for the Man and White Light/White heat, and, needless to say, they both hit me like a ton of bricks. Things haven’t been quite the same since.

Other tracks that made an immediate and lasting impression:

Teenage Kicks – The Undertones
To Here Knows When – My Bloody Valentine
Age of Consent – New Order

"hey young world" back in the day in the summer. i remember all the cars in the neighborhood bumpin' it. it just reminds of growing up. when he would say "hey young world-the world is yours..." i really took it to heart. and i still feel that way.
