a video called "chillin" came on tonight on Vh1 classic by Kurtis Blow and i was thinking what in the heck happened to him? i mean you never see him or even hear about him anywhere..kinda strange for one of the pioneers of rap that nobody ever brings him up

Kurt is replacing "Keith ( Cowboy) Wiggins" of the furious 5 for the reunion album, Cowboy passed away some years ago due to a drug overdose

I was just listening to Kurtis Blow's "Chrismas Rappin'" last night when I pulled out my Christmas music. I was wondering the same thing myself.

I read an article about him months ago. I think he's living in Texas. I don't want to call him a charity case, but in the article he made it seem like the new breed of rappers should be doing $omething to help the old $chooler$.

The last I heard about Kurtis Blow is that he is a Radio DJ. First, he is was in LA and now he is moved on to Texas' market.

Last time I saw him he was doing a show with Grandmaster Flash and the Sugarhill Gang in my hometown, lipsynching over Melle Mel´s The Message and pretending it was him who´s rapping.
After the show I talked to him...well, so much for my childhood heroes.
Sometimes you just shouldn´t meet them.
After the show him and Flash disappeared with some girls and did coke...at least that´s what the females told people later.
