"Lonely"
I heard this on the radio a few weeks ago. (I'd forgotten all about it! This song is the joint.) Afterwards, a jazz instrumental version of it came on. It was hot too, but I have no idea who did it.

My brother made a mix disc of his favorite Janet slow songs to sleep to every night. It's very relaxing.
My all-time favorite Janet ballad and possibly her greatest recording is "One More Chance".

I'm sure those tracks probably sound really good redone instrutmentally.

Other than Prince I think Janet makes the best slow jams. Lyrically she's reached a point where not much is left to the imagination but the music is so good I can't resist. Moist is one of those irritating words (like nougat) Just makes me cringe. So when I saw Moist on DJ I was fearful but I really like the arrangement of the song and that one line 'sucking on my mmm with ice in your mouth' gets me every time!
I have to keep updating my Janet slow jams disc because she keeps adding new ones but my all time favorites are: Twentyfour Play Lonely Anytime, Anyplace Funny How Time Flies 70s Love Groove Anything Making Love in the Rain Love Scene (ooh Baby) When We Ooo (I guess this is midtempo but I throw it on anyway) If I'm driving at night and these songs come on, look out! Anytime Anyplace (R. Kelly mix) Most people don't like this remix for some reason.
One More Chance -- I like this much better than the original by The Jacksons. I never really considered "Making Love In The Rain" a Janet song since Lisa Keith sings the lead vocal. It's similar to Madonna and "Sidewalk Talk". . [Edited 11/29/04 13:26pm]

because it makes it sound like every other R. Kelly ballad (and every other r&b slow jam of 1994, for that matter). "Awards are like hemorrhoids. Sooner or later, every asshole gets one."

There's a really good rendition of Janet's "Anything" by Will Downing on his Emotions CD. Check it out.
