No "long-a** song titles" thread would be complete without mentioning these guys...
As a group, the Pet Shop Boys are among the upper eschalon of artists who make longwinded song titles: You Only Tell Me You Love Me When You're Drunk Where The Streets Have No Name (I Can't Take My Eyes off You) It's Just My Little Tribute to Caligula, Darling This Must Be The Place I Waited Years To Leave I Don't Know What You Want But I Can't Give It Any More I Wouldn't Normally Do This Kind of Thing How Can You Expect To Be Taken Seriously? The Boy Who Couldn't Keep His Clothes On How I Learned To Hate Rock and Roll Try It (I'm In Love With A Married Man) Opportunities (Let's Make Lots of Money) . [Edited 11/21/04 8:59am]

[Edited 11/21/04 8:59am] I was thinking of them...expecially one of my favorites "I Don't Know What You Want But I Can't Give It Anymore". It's kind of funny becuase a good amount of their hits are single titles as well like "Heart", "Before", "Paninaro", "Rent" and of course the very recent "Miracles" and "Flamboyant". I got really addicted to PSB this year. Other than the fact that nearly all of their good stuff is on imports, which even used, tend to cost a little more, it's a healthy addiciton.

if we include albums, that Fiona Apple one that starts "When The Pawn..." has to hold the record. "Awards are like hemorrhoids. Sooner or later, every asshole gets one."

I the Pet Shop Boys. They concoct some of the best song titles. I like collecting their stuff. There's a great B-side on the "Flamboyant" maxi [IMPORT] entitled "I Didn't Get Where I Am Today." Have you heard it? It has this quasi-'60s/REM-meets-William Orbit vibe to it. Through them, I was turned on to the Scissor Sisters (their Silhouettes & Shadows mix of "Flamboyant" appears on that same maxi). It's a great buy. But, I know you're broke now like me. LOL. .
