Stefani's "Rich Girl" Is Kicking My Ass So Hard. I've never been a fan of No Doubt, but I decided to take a chance on the LAMB album, and I'm loving it. I'm gonna catch it for saying this, but this is the Madonna album I've been waiting to hear since after "Bedtime Stories" came out. It's fun and sexy and funky and dumb in a way that you just wanna give in to.
And RICH GIRL makes me wanna shake the ass.

Is that the name of the single? I'm loving it too. It's like half the good things about the 80's came back in a sexy little package. The Normal Whores Club

Damn, I've still gotta hear that one. I heard it's laced with New Wave-style tracks, for which I cannot deny. Her latest single is pretty cool. And I heard she does a kick-ass track with Andre 3000.
The fucking nerve of the New York Times to badly review her the way they did. They also said that New Wave was the worst era of music. What do those dickheads know anyway? They're probably Journey fans. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

I can't wait to pick this cd up after work? has anyone bought the limited edition pacakging yet? what's it like? I plan to buy that one, as i'm a sucker for pretty packaging. I think i'm also going to buy the Plantlife cd. I'm hearing too many great things about it! Finally, some good music!

i wasn't swayed by the limited edition version, but it looked pretty enough - it comes with a t-shirt and it has a little pink ribbon thing. usually i'll only get limited edition stuff if it's got decent extra music or video on it, and the LAMB cd didn't look to have much of either - plus i'm not that big of a no doubt fan, and i just wanted to hear the album. but if she's your thang, i think you'll be excited with the limited edition package.

American Life probably would have been, if she'd not broomed half of the dance tracks on the early version and replaced them with the mid-tempo stuff and ballads. "Awards are like hemorrhoids. LOVIN this track and this whole cd. I wasn't really into the first single but when I heard Rich Girl, I had to have the cd. I am so glad I did not go by the first track, the rest of the cd is H-O-T! ---------------------------------

"No matter how hard she tries, she is not a cultural trailblazer like Madonna. Unlike Madge, she willingly adapts to her collaborators instead of forcing them to adapt to her, which means that L.A.M.B. truly does sound like the work of seven different producers instead of one strong-willed artist. Nevertheless, even if it doesn't work all the time -- and some of its best tracks still have moments that induce a withering cringe -- it's a glitzy, wild ride that's stranger and often more entertaining than nearly any other mainstream pop album of 2004." Are you serious? I can't stand it! I was just Madonna should thank Gwen for doing this track with Dre in case she thinks of approaching him (as it was rumoured she had for what became "American Life"). Lighting did not strike twice (the first time being "Let Me Blow Your Mind"). So far, I'm not in love with the album but think that the single was worth the purchase. I might have to give it time.

I keep hearing people say they don't like the first single and so far, it's the only song on the album I really like (keep in mind, I've only listened up to and including "Harajuku Girls" and a tiny bit of "Crash", both of which I was kind of digging.

Good news, Anx (and all "Rich Girl" admirers)...
Rich Girl is the next single from L.A.M.B. The video was shot on the 20/21st of this month. The radio version is different from the album version; Eve raps twice in radio version.

The album sounds like make-up & hair-spray..I Like the dense synth lines.
but still...It sounds like 2 much thinking upon 1st few listens. ...Your coochie gonna swell up and fall apart...

so far, the only song on the album i don't care for is the last song - and it's not that i don't like that song, it's just the song i like the least. i'm not understanding if it's supposed to be a sexy little duet with andre3000 or a heartfelt tribute to MLK...i guess it could be both.
