Your favourite new cds for 2004 now that the year is drawing to a close (thank god), what were your favourite cds of this year?
mine were: 1. Mos Def - The New Danger 2. U2 - How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb 3. Prince - Musicology 4. .... gee i think that is it. wow. what a dull year. i heard a lot of old stuff that i loved like Marvin Gaye, Nina Simone, Bob Marley, Quincy Jones/Bill Cosby but that's it.

I think everyone overlooked Sonic Youth's "Nurse" album. Great album in my opinion, but I don't think they can maintain recognition with all of this teenie bopper albums coming out. [Edited 11/21/04 21:58pm]

Delgados - Universal Audio. This is probably my least favourite Delgados release to date, but that's only because I think their last two albums were honest-to-god masterpieces - The Great Eastern and Hate were like dream combinations of Belle and Sebastian, Flaming Lips, Abbey Road-era Beatles and E.L.O. They've scaled back their ambition on this record, but when it's on, this is a stunningly beautiful album. This is a criminally overlooked band. If there is any justice in the world, the Great Eastern will one day have the kind of reputation that Love's Forever Changes now enjoys.
