The GooGoo Dolls

The Goo Goo Dolls I really like..."Iris" was one of the songs we had at my Mum's funeral so it has a very special meaning for me and my family

See, I think albums 2 & 3 are their best. Their debut has All I Wanna Do Is Rock and the title track which are both great songs, but, to my ears at least, they went on to do much better stuff. And I found the last album rather uninspired. So, I guess what I'm saying is that you're talking shit and that my opinion overrules yours. biggrin

Novabreaker

A lot of very attractive young women like them so you might have to be forced to listen to one of those above-mentioned artists in certain occasions. Other than that, I'd rather slit my wrists before listening to music like that - but hey, you gotta make compromises sometimes.

I agree with you about the Goo Goo Dolls and Matchbox 20.

I'm not a fan of DMB or Mraz, but know many people who are.

I do like Travis however. I think their first 2 CDs were very strong. They lost their way on their 3rd, but came back a bit on their 4th. I like their lyrics, the singer has a great voice and the music is depper than you'd orignally think. Just goes to show you, it all depends on the person- Cos I do hear a lot of soul in Travis. I do feel they were overhyped, but I would never group them with the likes of the GooGoo20s...

I like Travis too. I thought "Good Feeling" and "The Man Who" were both pretty good albums. I've also been to see them live a few times and always loved their shows. Fran Healy has a beautiful voice biggrin

They kicked ass at Glastonbury 2000. I also saw them twice in Mpls in support of The Man Who- both of those shows were fantastic. I saw them the next tour, and I don't know if it was overexposure for me, but they just didn't impress me as much. Still, I think they are a good band and I love Fran. smile

whenever i think of jason mraz, i think of something a friend of mine was saying when he was bitching about a friend of a friend that he hated..."and then he walked in wearing a trucker hat cocked to the side, all jason mraz-styley!" lol

I was gonna start a thread on Dave Matthews Band asking the same thing. I mean I feel like I'm supposed to like that band but I cant' get into it. Is there a message or a theme or something that draws people to DMB? My carpool is a huge fan and he gushes and glows about them so I've heard plenty of their music. I just don't understand what is so great. Must be a white thing shrug

same here. on paper, it seems like a great band with great music. but the reality is, i just can't get into it. plus, my college years successfully turned me off to him/them completely.
