what do you think of Hanson?

I remember hating mmmbop, but I like some of their new songs. I saw them play an acoustic set on tv, and they're pretty impressive.

and I just heard the song this time around and love it.

what are your guys opinions?

Well, they actually play instruments and write songs and show artistic progression so I give them big props.

i think they're trying really hard to come out of the shadows of being known as a perky little grunge-era bubblegum pop band, and it's gonna take a lot of work for them to transcend it.

unless of course you're talking about BECK hanson, who i think is a genius and dreamy, to boot. nod

I think mmmbop could have been a mistake, since no one will take them seriously now

I think of them as a boyband who happens to play instruments and write music. shrug

And being a boyband isn't necessarily a bad thing.

As a Hanson fan, I will say they are one of the most talented and most underrated bands out there!

Their second album "This time around" was dynamic, poignant and amazingly wise to come from such young musicians. There was an ongoing theme about life and death on the album and where your life is taking you. The last song on that album "a song to sing" is sad and leaves you thinking

It took them 4 years to release their latest album "underneath" because of fights with their label rejecting every song they submitted. They decided to release it independently on their on label, 3CG, which stands for "3 car garage" which was the name of their first album

"Underneath" is much more uplifting and there is a love theme that was non-existant on "This time around" You can hear the growth in their musicianship and it's a bit mellow. Keeping with the somber last song trend from "This time around" the last song on this album is also sad and leaves you thinking

They do not suck and only someone who hasn't given one of their albums a full listen would say that. You can't deny talent even if you don't like the music. I can't wait to see these talented musicians live.

I don't really care for Hanson, but they are talented. Personally, I see them as a boyband -but I'd never use "boyband" as a way to insult any band or group.

I really think boybands get a lot of shit they don't deserve. Especially the groups that are unarguably boybands. (BSB, *N SYNC, etc.) They're criticized for not playing instruments or writing their own music -but they never claimed to. So why the fuss?

Like them or not; singing and dancing for a tour is fucking hard work. I couldn't do it, and neither could most people that criticize boybands -especially not those that think boybands don't work hard at what they do, ironically enough.

I feel you and it's good to see another Hanson fan somewhere in this world. People diss MMMBop but that song is a modern classic. And it's deep too. And catchy. What more could you ask for?

I know people who wet their pants for NSYNC. NSYNC aren't even half the band Hanson is. They'll probably never be popular again, but it isn't for lack of good material. The radio wouldn't know a good song if it was sent from God.
